Marshmallow and Cinnamon Shaker Card
I created a shaker card for my final December DT project for MyBesties, using Marshmallow and Cinnamon Snow People. Actually, I went a bit overboard this month and created 7 or 8 projects. I just couldn't get enough of all the great December releases.
For this card I created a 6x6 card. I selected two digi papers from Lozzie to use for the background of the shaker and the base of the card. I selected a variety of white sequins from my stash. I cut a silver snowflake on my scan-n-cut to use as an accent and white washi tape along the side for added interest. First I colored the adorable kitten by MyBesties.
I used the following copics:
Cat
Marshmallow and Cinnamon

A Bit More Time to Craft Challenge for Dec.15, 2019
This is the last challenge of the year and I have so enjoyed every challenge at A Bit More Time to Craft, where the theme is Anything Goes. The prize is beautiful digi papers. I am like many of you, raising children, working, and rushing around. In fact, I am raising my grandchildren, along with one child of mine, who is still in high school. Now I am now on 2 design teams - for KLM Designs and MyBesties, as well as Through The Purple Haze Challenge team. I have found myself again, and am crafting several times a week. My wish for you is to do what you love, craft, paint, sing, whatever it is, do it. Have a wonderful New Year, and I will see you in 2020.
I used the following spectrum noir markers for this lovely Conie Fong image, Puppy Snuggles.
Clothing and boots - JG1, JG2, Jg3, AB1, AB2, and AB3

"The Perfect Tree" for the pertfect time of year - Christmas!
I just love Christmas time. Kids are so excited to see Santa, families and friends spend time together. The stores are bustling with excitement. Music, food and kindness abound. I created this 6 x 6 card during my Friday night live. I used my favorite copic combos:

I used the following for the hat and coat - B97, B91, and B93. I used a light was of BG000 on the hat before laying the darker colors on top, I did not use BG000 on the jacket.

Fall Bestie Doll 16 - She is my favorite pumpkin in the patch, for sure!
I just love the image I used for my latest card, FallBestie Doll 16. Isn’t she just adorable?
You can find this image by artist Sherri
Baldy, online in her store. She is a phenomenal artist.
I used a combination
of Spectrum Noir Originals and Illustrators by Crafters Companion. I selected these markers, as I love their
shades of orange and greens.
For this image, I used the following:
- Pumpkin – B02, B03, and OR1 and for the inside of the pumpkin I used MB1
- Leaves and vines – YG1, YG2, and YG3,
- Hair – B02, and B03
- Skin – FS6, FS7, and FS8. For the cheeks PP6 and for the lips AP3.
- Shirt – AB3, VB2, and VB3.
- Pants, hat, and scarf– VB3 (cuff), AP1 and AP3
- Sunflowers – GB1, GB2, GB3, and TN7
I love using inks to create fun backgrounds. For this image,
I used distress inks:
·
squeezed lemonade, mustard seed, tea dye, and
bundled sage
For the grass:
·
bundled sage and pine needles
I created the sentiment “You’re the best pumpkin in the
patch” on my computer and printed on card stock. I edged it with Cajun craze
from Stampin Up! I used Crafters
Companion marker paper for the image with the grass and Sweet Sentiment marker
paper for the image without the grass. As you can see, they are both wonderful.
I look for paper that will allow the alcohol ink to layer without absorbing
into the paper. Both papers are ideal.
I often envision scenes in my head, so I experimented and created
one card with tall strands of grass and one without. The point is to have fun
and to experiment. As my friend Dawn says, it is only paper.
Thank you, and happy crafting! Always have fun when you are
creating your art.

MyBesties - Halloween images
Friday night during my regularly scheduled, “live” I used two
images from MyBestiesShop. I just adore these cute images. For me, last night
was wonderful – it was my first official DT project for My Besties. These
images will be released soon.
This card was a bit different for me. I felt outside my
comfort zone, but wanted to show that you can have fun, use different products,
and make Halloween card. The skin and
hair color were a bolder choice than my normal flesh and brunette tones.
I really enjoyed making this card. I generally use Copics to color, but wanted
to show that you can use any alcohol markers that you have. I used my Spectrum Noir, Illustrators, and Tri
Blends by Crafter Companions.
I started with the Spectrum Noirs several years
ago, and actually love them very much to this day. They are just as good as the Copics, but
a better price point for beginners.
The colors I that I used are were a variety of spectrum noir
and illustrators:
- The moon – CT1, CT2, and CT3. I added a smidgen of CT4. I also used Mb1 in the decay.
- The skin – YG1, YG2, and YG3. I wanted the skin to have a ‘greenish” glow.
- Eyes – I love to use gelli pens and for this image, I used the green.
- Hair – DR7, DR3, and DR1. Even though the hair is a maroon color, you still use a dark, medium, and highlight tone.
- Lips – CR11 and Cheeks AP1. I love my Besties to have lots of pretty pink on their faces, even if they are green faces.
- Book – OR1 and OR2. I used a black multiliner to write the title, “Going Batty”. A fun touch.
- For the small flowers I used BO2 and on the leaves YG3.
- Clothing on the larger image – VB3, VB2, and VB3. I USED CR11 on her socks.
- Clothing on the smaller image – AB2 and AB3.
- For the bats, I used a variety of colors. I wanted to make sure each one stood out from the other. You can use any combination that you like. I did use – FS6, FS7, FS8, GB 1, GB3, GB5, GB8, GB10, IG2, IG4, IG6, and IG8. I used the blender pen sparingly too.
- For the background, I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Sugared Lemonade. Salty Ocean, Stormy Sky, Blueprint Sketch, Hickory Smoke, Pale Fig, Mowed Lawn, Sage, and Pine Needles. I also used perfect pearls mixed with water to create the stars by splattering them on. Once they dried, they were so shiny.
I simply used black glitter paper to mat the card, which was
8 x 8. A rather large card, but I wanted to use both adorable images.

Swimmer Girl and Snowballs and Snowmen from Polkadoodles Stamps
These images are just the cutest. I just love summer and the "Swimmer Girl" encompasses everything that I love about summer; the sand, sea, shells, and the sun. If only it could be summer all year long. For this image I used Sweer Sentiment Premium paper and Copic markers from Dick Blick . I was trying to make the little girl look a bit sunburned.
The Snowballs and Snowmen image I plan to use for a my Through the Purple Haze DT challenge in November, which is "Snow, snow, and more snow". This was just a practice run, but I am happy with my frst attempt. Again, I used Sweet Sentiment Paper and Copics.

Little Darling Polkadoodles Ruby Stamps and Friends Afloat Country Friends
Who doesn't just love Little Darlings and Polkadoodles? I adore the Ruby stamp set and Friends set. They don't disappoint. I colored these images with Copics, which I absolutely love. However, I also love and use Spectrum Noir, Pro Markers, and Prisma Colors alcohol markers. I am definitely a fan of alcohol markers. I simply love to color, and spend many hours coloring various stamped images a week.
The Friends Afloat Country Friends is perhaps my favorite image It reminds me that we are all in the same boat and should be kind to each other. Don't kick out the person who is not rowing, but lend them a hand. Too much of a moral lesson? Just be kind - it is much easier than the alternative.

Fall is here!
I for one, am not ready for Fall, but it is right around the corner. I have to admit that I do love making Fall themed cards. I am partial to the Fall colors; oranges, purples, greens, and browns. They are all lovely to work with. The older that I get, the more I like the Halloween images. I have made several Fall themed cards the past week. I hope you enjoy the fun selection that I have colored.

September Through the Purple Haze DT challenge
September Challenge |
For the Through the Purple Haze September challenge, I used the Horse Cuddlebug stamp by Unity Stamp Company, which is on sale this Labor Day Weekend. I colored the horse with Copic Markers. The challenge this month is using something with fur. I immediately thought of this cute little stamp.
Through the Purple Haze has challenged me the last two months to create cards that are a bit outside my comfort zone. Last month, we had to create a card that was inspired by a song. I used a stamp from Little Darlings Country Afloat . Our challenge was to create a card based on a song. My song is Sail Away by Styx. Both challenges were extremely fun.
We should seek out challenges in our lives. it is the only way that we grow. Otherwise we become stagnant in our lives.
Creating cards, journals, and scrapbook pages allows us to get close to Art, and to let our creative juices flow. For me, the more I create the more I want to create. I could spend hours in my craft room. Please check out the Through the Purple Haze Blog.

Feeling Inspired and Too Little Time
Life is busy. With two special
needs children, I am running around to appointments every day. Not to mention, that I teach English as an Additional Language (ESL) at a local college. I am
sure that you can relate. We all have very busy lives these days.
I caught a live on Facebook of
Dawn, from Dawn G Design's. Watching her has
inspired me to use the stamps and digital images by Paper Nest Dolls, created by
Christine Young. The stamps are just adorable. I believe that she has created
them in the image of her children, which is very touching. Dawn is so funny on her lives. It is very refreshing to find a group that is so honest and real.
So, I have gotten out all my
markers, pencils and watercolors and have created several cards this weekend. I
have lots more ideas in my head and seem to have too little time to create.
Working with color is my first love; markers, watercolors, inks, or pencils - I
am always amazed at how color brings an image to life.
I think that there is a life
lesson in there somewhere. Maybe color brings us to life too.
We recently went to Tybee
Island, Georgia, and there is color everywhere. Beautiful turquoise, peach,
pink, greens, and yellows - well you get the point. After our trip, I started
back with making cards. It has just all come together with a flood of
creativity, which I want to share with you.
I reset up my camera to film
videos, took a chance and looked into an opportunity with a UK crafting
business, and started this blog. I am just a person who loves to craft and want
to share my journey with you and share yours too. I hope you decide to follow
me and like my Face Book page at Creative Paper Crafting with Jacquie.

Bird Song by Penny Black - a relaxing watercolor project.
I was thinking back to when I first started making cards.
I had wanted to make a card for our granddaughter. I had no idea where to start. So naive! I went and bought supplies, then more supplies, and even more supplies. About $200 later, I made my first card and so the journey began. Don’t we all start out naive about what we need, and the cost?
Making cards has helped me through many tough moments in my life and I think I will forever love working with paper and inks. I have found that my favorite items to work with are rubber stamps, digital images, markers, watercolors, pencils, and inks.
I do have a Cricut and a Scan n Cut, but I still love just cutting out my images and working with them. This week we celebrated the Fourth of July at home with our own small stockpile of fireworks. They were small, but mighty.
To me the fourth has become such a fun family event centered on our kids. There is something special about a child’s face when they watch the fireworks. I wanted to take the sense of joy and use it on a card. I am a big believer in using what you have and not buying lots of new things.
Since I did not have any fireworks type of stamps or images I decided to use Bird Song from PennyBlack Stamps. I used my watercolors and Prisma Color pencils to create this sweet image. I really do think the image is just so innocent. The little girl is so enthralled with the bird.
Childhood should be filled with happiness and moments of pure joy.
Please join me in my Face Book group Creative Paper Crafting with Jacquie . I want this group to be a fun and safe place to share your work and tutorials too.

Starting Over Again
I started making cards about four years ago.
I was creating a card just about every single day. I posted videos of my cards and of reviews of subscription boxes. I had hoped to get on a design team. Don't we all?
Life changed for me about two years ago when my second grandchild came to live with me. Since that time we now have a third, who came to live with us at just 2 days old.
As you can imagine making cards was put on the back burner. Now that the baby is a year old, I plan to start making cards on a nearly daily basis again.
I still dream of becoming a design team member. My goal is to start posting and making videos again. I created a Face Book group too.
I want a place where we can share demos, cards, and ideas in a friendly environment. I hope that you will join me at my Face Book group Creative Paper Crafting with Jacquie.
